Event on 16th November 2022, 4:00 p.m. CET; 10 p.m. WIB at Berlin Global Village. For online participation please register here
Increasing urbanisation on a global scale and the climate crisis pose numerous challenges for urban dwellers. At the same time just and sustainable urban transformation presents a chance for meaningful change. In order to maintain life at a sustainable level and to counter existing path dependencies, however, numerous “turnarounds” are necessary. These encompass the areas of mobility, industry, construction, the energy sector, social justice and climate protection, to name but a few. The panel will discuss the effects of the climate crisis on cities, what changes are needed and how just transition in urban spaces can be realised by and for the people.
Over the past two years, Watch Indonesia! e.V. has dealt with various aspects of the challenges and opportunities of urban transformation. One of the outcomes of this activity, the dossier „Urbane Transformation in Jakarta und Berlin 2022, will be launched at this event.
