Im Oktober 2019 begann die indonesische Regierung mit der Propagierung des sogenannten Omnibusgesetzes. Es zielt darauf ab, eine Vielzahl von Bestimmungen in bestehenden Gesetzen zu ändern. Erfasst wird ein breites Spektrum von Themen: Von der Wirtschaft, der Umweltverträglichkeitsprüfung, dem Arbeitsrecht und der Bildung bis hin zur Halal-Zertifizierung und den Befugnissen der Regionalregierungen.
