Indonesische Gemeinden reichen OECD-Beschwerde gegen HeidelbergCement ein

Vertreter*innen indonesischer Gemeinden haben heute bei der Bundesregierung Beschwerde gegen
HeidelbergCement, einen der weltweit größten Zementhersteller, eingereicht. In der Beschwerde an
die Nationale Kontaktstelle für die OECD-Leitsätze werfen sie dem Unternehmen vor, durch eine
geplante Kalksteinmine und ein Zementwerk ihre Existenzgrundlage, Wasserressourcen sowie das
lokale Ökosystem zu gefährden. Durch das Projekt am Kendeng-Karstgebirge in Zentraljava sind auch
Gebiete bedroht, die von hoher spiritueller Bedeutung für die dort ansässigen indigenen Samin Gemeinden sind.
